Automatic Laser Guided Land Leveler

KEW make Automatic Laser Guided Land Leveler manufactured by Kovai Engineering Works (KEW), Coimbatore is specially designed for accurate agricultural land leveling applications such as table-top leveling and slope setting on any side according to cultivation requirements. This advanced machine helps farmers achieve uniform land leveling with high precision, resulting in improved irrigation efficiency and better crop productivity.

The laser-guided leveling system saves approximately 25% to 30% irrigation water by maintaining even field levels. The unit consists of a laser transmitter, laser receiver, survey receiver, control box, twin hydraulic control system, tripod & scale, remote control, and bucket scraper for efficient soil movement and leveling operations.

Working Principle

The laser transmitter transmits a rotating laser beam, which acts as the reference datum for the laser receiver mounted on the leveling bucket. The control panel mounted on the tractor interprets the signal from the receiver and automatically opens or closes the hydraulic control valve.

This hydraulic system raises or lowers the bucket scraper, shifting soil from higher areas to lower areas in the most effective and economical way. Before leveling starts, the field should be ploughed and a topographic survey should be conducted.

Features

  • 25% to 30% irrigation water saving.
  • Improves crop yield by 15% to 20% through even crop stands.
  • Reduces requirement for bunds and irrigation channels.
  • Improves nutrient use efficiency and field productivity.
  • Energy saving due to reduced water and tractor usage.
  • Labour saving, land saving, time saving, and money saving.
  • Accurate table-top leveling and slope setting facility.

Steps to Follow

  • Plough the field using rotary tillers, disc harrows, or cultivators.
  • Remove all surface residues and roots for smooth soil flow.
  • Conduct a topographic survey to identify high and low spots.
  • Determine soil movement strategy using field survey readings.
  • Position the laser-controlled bucket at the required field height.
  • Drive the tractor from higher areas towards lower areas.
  • The laser controller automatically adjusts the bucket height.
  • Perform final leveling runs for precision finishing.
  • Re-survey the field to confirm leveling accuracy.
